Heat Resistant Stainless Steel

These grades have excellent strength and creep resistance at high temperatures. They offer better resistance to oxidizing or reducing atmospheres depending on their chemistry balance.

Alloy Properties
Representative Alloys HK40, HT
Applications For high strength and corrosion resistance at temperatures above 1200 F
Limitations Exposure to service conditions may degrade room temperature ductility and weldability; cannot be hardened
Typical Uses Petrochemical refining, heat treatment furnaces
Machinability Fair. Slow feeds and deep cuts recommended
Weldability Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) produces good results
Corrosion Resistance Superior resistance to air, combustion gases, flue gases (reducing and oxidizing) and steam
