Precipitation Hardening Stainless Steel

These grades offer reasonable corrosion resistance with extremely high strengths and hardness values obtained through heat treatments. The overall corrosion resistance of these materials is superior to most martensitic stainless steels but not as good as standard austenitic stainless steels.

Alloy Properties
Representative Alloys CB7Cu-1 and CB7Cu-2.
Applications For high-strength requirements (to 175 KSI); a superior combination of strength, toughness and weldability with moderately good corrosion resistance
Limitations Should be used in an aged condition
Typical Uses Structural parts requiring at least moderate corrosion resistance
Machinability Good when in condition A (solutioned)
Weldability Should be welded in soft condition, then re-solutioned and re-aged
Corrosion Resistance Moderate to good
