Heat Resistant Stainless Steel

These grades have excellent strength and creep resistance at high temperatures. They offer better resistance to oxidizing or reducing atmospheres depending on their chemistry balance.

Alloy Properties
Representative AlloysHK40, HT
ApplicationsFor high strength and corrosion resistance at temperatures above 1200 F
LimitationsExposure to service conditions may degrade room temperature ductility and weldability; cannot be hardened
Typical UsesPetrochemical refining, heat treatment furnaces
MachinabilityFair. Slow feeds and deep cuts recommended
WeldabilityShielded metal arc welding (SMAW) produces good results
